New-fashioned Writing Instruments

Writing helps me remember things way better than typing does. In “Write It Down, Make It Happen,” author Henriette Anne Klauser says that your brain works overtime when you write, sending a signal to the cerebral cortex saying: “Wake up! Pay attention! Don’t miss that detail!” When you’re writing by hand, you’re taking your time. When you’re typing, you’re often distracted because it’s happening so fast. Wait…what? (See 8 Ways Technology Makes You Stupid).

For the sake of science, don’t ditch your pens, except for your old pens. You know, the ones that are boring.

In the video below, Promo Marketing’s production editor, Ashley Chiaradio, has three pens that are not boring because they pass our semi-informal Adorable and Practical Test.
